Where Can One Find Confidence?

What's your confidence training program?

Are you confident? Are you sure? If you are confident, where did you get that confidence? These are common questions that I hear from women in my life and often a difficult question to answer. It’s a shame that there isn’t a confidence store. You know, kind of like Nordstrom’s but with different variations of […]

The Five Year Review

Don’t wait to be happy, fulfilled, and joyful.

Five years ago this month, I completed a life coach training program and I started my own business.  It seems like the perfect time to do a review of the last five years of my life. Here’s the short version:  Nothing has changed. I’m kind of serious. I live in the same house, I have […]

Running Guilt Commentary

People often ask me what kind of issues or topics I work on with my clients. Although we cover the gamut from relationships to work and everything in between, there is one topic that appears to be epidemic for my clients and that’s guilt. They feel guilty about their parenting, their work (or lack thereof), […]

When Everything Seems to be Going Wrong, Here’s the FIRST Thing You Should Do

Clients and friends tell me all the time about things that go awry in their lives and those moments in which everything seems to be going wrong. I ask them what they do in those moments and their answers vary, but more often than not they tell me that they just keep going.

The Fourteen-Year Pain Lesson

I left that physical therapy session feeling really embarrassed and somewhat ashamed of myself. Most of my time is spent guiding women into lives of power, happiness, and self care and here I was having spent fourteen years in a sufficient amount of pain.

A few weeks ago, I started working with a physical therapist. Here’s how our first conversation went:

Her: “I see you are here because your back is bothering you. Have you ever been to physical therapy before?”

Me: “No.”

Her: “How long have you been in pain due to your back?”

Me: “Ummmm, let me […]

Looking for Passion in all the Wrong Places

As a life coach and a mom of three budding adults, I hear and use the word passion quite a bit. “Find your passion in life and you will be happy.”

As a life coach and a mom of three budding adults, I hear and use the word passion quite a bit. “Find your passion in life and you will be happy.” “I want to be in a relationship that is passionate in every way.” “I’m unhappy because I don’t have a passion.” These are but […]

Getting Unconscious – Is It Worth It?

If you ask me what my greatest skill is, it’s avoidance or getting unconscious or sticking my head in the sand. I’m a star at it. I developed the skill as a young girl when I didn’t like what was going on in my world.

If you ask me what my greatest skill is, it’s avoidance or getting unconscious or sticking my head in the sand. I’m a star at it. I developed the skill as a young girl when I didn’t like what was going on in my world. It started with reading in which I would bury my […]

Channeling Your 21-Year-Old Self

I had forgotten how full of hope and energy a young female co-ed could be. They were hopeful and innocent, yet smart and worldly. They were everything that I thought I’d be for the rest of my life.

Recently, I made a triumphant pilgrimage back to my college alma mater. I was invited back by a dear friend who teaches at the school. She invited me to talk to administrators, coaches, and two groups of female athletes. It was an incredible day...but the young women. Wow, the young women! I had forgotten how […]

An Author

From the time I can remember, I have been a bookworm. Reading has been both my salvation and my teacher. When I was young I read to escape, but also to learn and grow.

From the time I can remember, I have been a bookworm. Reading has been both my salvation and my teacher. When I was young I read to escape, but also to learn and grow. As a very young girl, I would tell people that I was going to be an author when I grew up. […]

Self Promotion for Women

As a female business owner, I am involved in some wonderful networking groups, both in person and online. I love the camaraderie of the groups, the connection, and most especially, the excellent advice and support.

As a female business owner, I am involved in some wonderful networking groups, both in person and online. I love the camaraderie of the groups, the connection, and most especially, the excellent advice and support. However, I have noticed an interesting phenomenon in most of these groups and it’s the push to not self promote. […]
